Welcome back to my blog!
As you already know, I have been writing about my IGCSE journey for the past two years and I have finally taken the exams and passed all six of them. Therefore, it is finally time for me to move on with my A Levels! Another exciting journey is about to begin for me. Want to join me on my A Level journey? Keep reading!
At the beginning of 10th grade, our school asked us to pick three A Level subjects to study. They presented a variety of choices and it was hard for me to pick since I wanted to learn almost all of them. When it was finally time for me to choose, I had to make a choice. After a long thinking process, I decided on the following three subjects: Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics. I always had the dream to study either engineering or computer science in university so I chose my subjects according to my dreams for the future. Some of my friends were so confused about which subjects to take and ended up choosing random ones. However, all of them regretted in the end and changed their subjects because they realized much later that these decisions are not to be made randomly. You have to think about what to do with those subjects later in life and how they contribute to your academic life. If it is a subject that you are not interested in, do not take it! It will only make you waste your time on something you are most likely to fail. Choose the ones that you actually want to improve yourself in. This is how you can enjoy your A Level journey.
After the first term began, all of us were stressed out. A Levels were harder than most of us expected, however we still managed to catch up and adapt to it. We have very busy schedules when it comes to homework and studying but I guess it is the only way for us to succeed. This year, I have learned the importance of studying hard. I had times where I found it hard to focus on schoolwork because I thought it to be too much. However, it made me realize that not studying regularly and not doing revisions affected my grades drastically. After that realization, I started to study more for my A Levels and saw that I was getting better grades on my quizzes and mock exams. I know that you must be tired of hearing this from everyone but seriously, do not give up! Keep studying!
As the days went on, I started to like my subjects even more. I believe Computer Science is my favorite subject among the A Levels I am currently taking since it is very new to me and I am very eager to learn it. We are learning the programming language Python and our teacher makes the lessons very enjoyable and educational for us to learn it more effectively. By bringing our laptops to lessons, we learn the language by practicing it and getting help from our teacher when we need to. It is my belief that if you want to pursue a career related to computers in the future, taking A Level Computer Science is a great way to start.
The other two subjects I have chosen are also great. However, I find some topics of Mathematics to be pretty challenging. Nevertheless, it is nothing I can’t handle, with a little help from my teachers and friends of course. Other than that, I can easily say that my A Level journey has started off terrific! I am looking forward to sharing more with you in the future. Stay tuned!
